Canada House returns to the official Great Escape festival this year! Presenting three days of live showcases from hotly-tipped players in Canada’s thriving independent music scene.
Hosted by the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) the esteemed ‘Canada House’ platform visits music conferences all over the world, introducing handpicked artists to international audiences of new music fans and industry folk alike.
Brighton’s Green Door Store venue once again provides the backdrop to these much anticipated showcases and will be known as ‘Canada House’ over the festival weekend. Canada House’s venerated reputation for providing exceptional new talent often sees crowds snaking around the block – and this year will be no exception!
Priding themselves on numerous success stories; Canada House appearances often act as a spearhead for breaking into the UK and EU markets, leading to opportunities such as festival appearances, tour supports, press coverage, international management partners, licensing, and of course – signing record deals. Illustrious CH alumni include; Alvvays, Hannah Georgas, Ben Caplan, Arkells, Jenn Grant, Pierre Kwenders, Bad Pop, Andy Shauf to name just a few.

The Great Escape Festival is the UK’s premier new music showcase event, where the great and good of the industry can meet and network with international cohorts whilst scouring multiple venues on the hunt for exciting new music. Organizations like CIMA, with key personnel from the Canadian music scene, facilitate entry into international music markets, and enable artists and the management to create international export and marketing opportunities.
CIMA again teams up with its Music Export Canada brand partners Breakout West, Bring it Ontario by OMDC and Music Ontario, Music Nova Scotia, in this invaluable initiative to promote the best new Canadian music to the rest of the world.
