CIMA will be bringing its business mission to San Francisco from October 16-18, 2017. We will be holding a professional development session next Wednesday, June 21 on the San Francisco market and the important relationship between music and tech. The session will be presented by Music Export Canada and will include an overview of the San Francisco market, a breakdown of CIMA’s business mission and an opportunity to learn how to best utilize tech for your business. The session will be presented and moderated by our US mission consultant and will include panelists from the tech industry.
This session is recommended for companies interested in joining and learning more about CIMA’s initiative to San Francisco this year and to those who want to gain a better understanding of the technology capital of the world.
The session will take place at the Lula Lounge (1585 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1T9) on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The presentation and panel will take place from 1:00-2:00PM with networking reception to follow.

Mike Bell – Lorimer Beacon
Prior to launching Lorimer Beacon in the autumn of 2013, Mike Bell was the Director of International Relations at FILTER Creative Group based in NYC. His work with over fifty international government cultural organizations, music export offices, public institutions, and private industries was the catalyst to launching FILTER Magazine’s Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles in 2010. Since then, Mike Bell traveled the world speaking on and moderating panels at top festivals and conferences including CMW, BIGSOUND, The Great Escape, Reeperbahn, V-Rocks, and more.
Since Lormier Beacon started, Mike Bell served as Music Norway’s US advisor in 2014 and 2015, worked with Sound Diplomacy and led a NYC trade mission for Creative Saskatchewan in November 2014. He’s also worked with CIMA creating a trade missions to NYC in January and November 2016 and with Dutch Performing Arts on trade missions at SXSW and during NYC.
Mike Bell also serves as Vice President at Sneak Attack Media where he runs select marketing & PR campaigns for a variety of clients. When he’s not working, enjoying being a dad to a ten-month old baby girl and two awesome cats and of course his loving partner in crime.

Megan West, VP, Content Relations Sound Cloud
Megan West is VP, Content Relations at SoundCloud, the leading audio platform. Megan manages the teams who work with labels, artists and management partners to utilize SoundCloud’s tools to share music & audio content with fans across the web and social platforms. Megan came to SoundCloud following time working at Amazon MP3, Zune Music, and managing artists in Los Angeles.
