CIMA will be returning to New York next week for A2IM’s Indie Week 2016 from June 13-16. Last year, A2IM attracted over 850 delegates, including A2IM members from 24 states and international guests from 15 countries!
A small delegation of CIMA members were invited to participate in A2IM’s business conference with other WIN member delegations from AIM, BureauExport/France Rocks, Music From Ireland, Music Norway and Sounds Australia.
Indie Week partner Reeperbahn will be holding its “New York Edition” showcase on Wednesday, June 15 and will feature international talents including Adi Ulmansky, Rebstar, Fenster, Moonboy Inc., Malky, Jesper Munk and Canada’s own Grand Analog.

Tim Potocic is co-owner and president of 23-year old Sonic Unyon Records in Hamilton, Ontario. Sonic Unyon has grown into one of Canada’s leading independent record companies releasing over 160 new recordings by a wide variety of acts. In 2009 Sonic Unyon have also expanded into the Live Music business with Tim Potocic as the Supercrawl festivals lead organizer, Because Beer, Hamilton Blues Festival, Seven Sundays concert series. The passed year Supercrawl attendance 2014-15 grew to over 150,000. 2015-16 proves to be an other expansion year as Sonic Unyon continues its foray into the Live music business and has opened Mills Hardware ( 150 cap) and is managing live music events at the Collective Arts event space ( 700 cap).

Grand Analog is not so much a rap-supergroup but more of a musical collective. Founder and lead vocalist, Odario Williams, describes the Grand Analog sound as “a beautiful mess of Rap’n’Roll, Dub & Soul.” The group has won two Western Canadian Music Awards; one in 2009 for the Touch Your Toes EP and in 2010 for the critically acclaimed Metropolis Is Burning. Along with this, they’ve also been nominated for a Canadian Independent Music Award in 2010 & 2014, as well as various CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards.
