Miesha and the Spanks

Based in Calgary/Treaty 7, Miesha and The Spanks are a garage-rock two piece who turn it all the way up. Shaking the rafters with her radiant range, Miesha Louie simultaneously wails on the mic while she riffs on her flying V, as Sean Hamilton’s performative but hard-as-heck hitting drums also captivate the crowd – revealing their undeniable chemistry on stage. High energy performances paired with catchy power-pop sing-a-long choruses make them at home on big festival stages as well sweaty dive bars – and they have played plenty of both! The release cycle of latest album Unconditional Love In Hi-Fi has taken them across Canada and into the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. They’ve played everywhere from 80-4000 capacity venues this year, including the Burt Block Party with Billy Talent in Winnipeg MB, CBC’s “Come Toward The Fire” Indigenous showcase at the Chan Centre in Vancouver with Black Belt Eagle Scout and Zoon, and support to Bif Naked on her Alberta club tour dates, to name a few. Whether it’s an all ages punk show or theatre showcase, Miesha and The Spanks command the audiences attention, appealing to their inner angst or nostalgia for a time when their heart’s were on fire.

NADUH

Filling in the industry thigh-gap, 5 piece femme powered Hip Hop/R&B group, NADUH, write, engineer, and produce all of their music – meaning they have crafted a sound that’s truly representative of their collective energy. Spreading unity consciousness through R&B infused beats that hit every chakra, laced with buttery-smooth vocals and HERstorical lyrics. This one-of-a-kind group aims to shatter earthly constructs, and pop pussies worldwide.

Since their inception in 2020, NADUH has released their debut EP “HOMIESEXUAL”, garnering over half a million plays across streaming platforms, was nominated for R&B Artist of the Year at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards, supported sold out shows for Raveena and Jacob Banks, and have had music featured in Prime Video’s, “The Lake”, and at Alex Yu’s New York Fashion Week show ‘23. The Venus led super-group made their debut UK/EU tour in May ‘23, followed by a successful BC Summer Festival circuit, and sold-out shows in Toronto & Montreal.

NADUH introduces the “New Era” of girl-groups: true friends who are the sole visionaries and manifestors of their music, narrative, and image. Their music holds strong messages of reclamation, empowerment, queerness, sexuality, and spirituality, mixed in with “that bitch” energy, aiming to help their audience access higher realms of consciousness while entertaining their urge to twerk.

Laurence-Anne

Laurence-Anne is an architect of the intangible; she sculpts musical landscapes composed of haunting melodies, lush synthesizers, synthetic rhythms and hazy textures, all coated with her voice capable of instilling both comfort and anxiety. All of these elements come together to create a blend of dream pop, coldwave and synthpop inspired by her imagination, intimately connected to her experiences, and deeply infused with her unique perspective. In 2023 she released Oniromancie, her most dream pop record, on which she further pushes the musical groundwork that had already been established on previous albums. With her music, she made her way onto the Polaris Prize long list, as well as a nomination at ADISQ. She continued to share her music abroad in the UK, France and Mexico.

Begonia

Pegged as Canada’s breakout alt-diva, Begonia has built a legion of fans online and at her legendary live shows. Her critically acclaimed discography includes Lady In Mind EP (2017), Fear (2019) and Powder Blue (2023). Among her accolades, she has a JUNO nomination (2021, Adult Alternative Album of the Year), two Polaris Prize nominations, multiple #1 songs on CBC Radio, and was named one of NPR’s Artists You Need to Know. Her sophomore album, Powder Blue emerged in early 2023 and confronts themes of sexuality, self-discovery, acceptance and empowerment. The album was named one of CBC Music’s Best Canadian Albums of 2023 (#7) and was shortlisted for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize.

Begonia’s live performance is world class. She has been playing sold out clubs and theatres in North America, and recently supported indie-all-star, Leith Ross, on their European tour. Her vocal prowess has the power to absolutely floor an audience, evidenced at her Polaris Gala performance. She is riding a wave of momentum with a record number of people discovering Powder Blue and becoming super-fans. Begonia is a standout Canadian talent, and the world is beginning to take notice.

Terra Lightfoot

With 2023’s Healing Power (Sonic Unyon Records), Terra Lightfoot showcases her considerable clout as a pop songsmith, guitarist and vocalist, delivering a dozen stunning tracks that together represent a career high. To describe Lightfoot’s decade-plus musical evolution as astonishing is an understatement. On top of a pair of JUNO nominations and a long-list Polaris nod, her marathon tours have touched down in eight countries across four continents (including support slots for Bruce Cockburn, Blue Rodeo, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Sheepdogs, and Willie Nelson). The set captures the crackling chemistry of the core live trio and Lightfoot’s artistic range is again on full display. Healing Power delivers the peerless pop-rock album that fans have long known she’s always had in her – a prismatic tour de force from the charismatic rocker.
