Call for Nominations: 2022-2025 CIMA Board Of Directors

Want to join CIMA’s Board of Directors?

Are you interested in making your voice heard? Are you an entrepreneur operating an independent music company? Are you an advocate for a stronger and safer music industry? Then run for election to the Canadian Independent Music Association’s Board of Directors.

As a national music industry trade association, CIMA seeks to represent the interests of the Canadian-owned independent music industry, striving to encompass the sector’s make-up as an inclusive organization dedicated to realizing meaningful representation among the Black, Indigenous, of colour, disabled, women, non-binary, and 2SLGBTQIA communities.

Be nominated or nominate yourself – All Canadian-owned members in good standing (Class A, B, and C) are eligible to be elected for a three-year term as an officer of the Board of Directors. Directors meet roughly 10 times a year for 2.5 h meetings taking July and August off for the summer. Directors are also required to participate on a minimum of one CIMA committee during a term year. Elections will take place during CIMA’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

If you are interested in standing for election, please click here to submit your materials.

Alongside basic contact information, as part of an update of CIMA’s nomination process, those standing for election are asked to submit the following information for their nomination profile:

  • Incumbency/Challenger Status
  • Committee Experience
  • Mission Statement: Why do you wish to sit on CIMA’s Board of Directors? (100 Word Limit)
  • A high-resolution .jpg photo of yourself

Please note that there are 5 available positions on CIMA’s Board of Directors this year.

We’ll post your submission on our website and in our Weekly Newsletter so your CIMA member colleagues will know who to vote for. The deadline for nominations and materials is Friday, September 30, 2022.

Thank you very much and good luck to all nominees.
