This June, CIMA will be organizing a business and showcase mission for Canadian Black music professionals to Atlanta. This mission focuses on expanding the careers of Canadian Black SMES with B2B and networking opportunities, a Canadian showcase, and creative collaborations for their artists.
CIMA has partnered with Atlanta’s Milk and Cookies Festival to provide in-depth export opportunities and cultivate US industry connections throughout the week. CIMA has also hired Toronto based consultants 925 Agency to help program the mission. 925 Agency crafts immersive experiences that extend the limits of creativity, opportunity, and community by curating authentic, diverse, and interactive events.
Canadian artists selected for this opportunity will showcase at the Canadian Cookies Showcase and Mixer on June 13 at Vinyl. This event will shine a spotlight on the dynamic and evolving landscape of Canadian hip hop, R&B, and DJ culture. Canadian artists and DJs will showcase, connect with industry professionals, and share their music with a new audience in the US.
This mission includes:
CIMA is seeking applications from export-ready Canadian Black music professionals (labels, managers, artist entrepreneurs etc) with international experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong potential to conduct business in the USA. This mission is open to both members and non-members, although spaces are limited.
This opportunity is open to 10 Canadian companies and 5-10 Canadian showcasing artists.
– Showcasing opportunity for Canadian artists at the “Canadian Cookies Showcase”.
– B2B and professional development opportunities throughout the week.
– CIMA will hire an on-site consultant to connect Canadian delegates with US industry and help them reach their business objectives.
ASSISTANCE: Through CanExport funding, Canadian delegates selected for CIMA’s Business & Showcase Mission will receive partial travel-related support (economy air, ground transportation) and accommodation/per diem expenses for up to 10 applicants.
FEES: This mission is open to qualifying CIMA member companies as well as qualifying non-member companies. A fee to participate will be charged to each selected company, with a reduced rate offered to CIMA members. More details to be announced shortly.
