[Toronto, April 24, 2024] – Last night, the Canadian independent music community gathered to celebrate this year’s honourees at CIMA’s 8th annual Make It Music Awards (MIMA) held at STACKT Market in Toronto. Reverting to its pre-COVID format, attendees enjoyed a seated dinner and show hosted by Julian Taylor. The evening celebrated the innovative and trailblazing leaders who strengthen Canada’s independent music industry.
The 2024 MAKE IT MUSIC Award recipients are:

Up against fellow nominees Dakota Bear for Land Back Records and Jeff Ojeda for Kyle McKearney, Six Shooter Records took home The Make It BOLD (The Marketing Award) for their work on William Prince’s Stand in Joy.
Attendees were treated to performances from Julian Taylor who kicked off the event, and Witch Prophet who wrapped it all up at the end. Congratulations again to all the winners, what a night to remember!
The MIMAs are the official kick-off to CIMA’s second annual Make It Music Summit happening today and tomorrow, where our sector gathers to jam on the future of our industry while exploring disruptive business models, cutting-edge tech, innovative marketing approaches, and resilient music ecosystems with global industry-leading experts.
