Information session, panel and networking reception
November 10, 2014 – 1pm-5pm
Ontario Investment and Trade Centre
250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor, Toronto, ON M5B 2L7
Join CIMA on November 10, 2014 at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre for an information session and presentation on MIDEM by the trade show’s North American Director of Sales & Business, Marc Pelletier.
Why focus on MIDEM?
After our 2014 mission to the trade show, 96% of our participants reported either starting or finalizing business deals there with confirmed and expected revenues reaching into the millions! CIMA’s Canadian Blast showcases were also a success, daily drawing in over hundreds international music business professionals, buyers, labels, managers, agents and promoters from over 70 different countries.
With that in mind, we will guide you through a crash course on all things MIDEM during this session. What does the event entail and how does its mandate serve to encourage business growth internationally through the broad and varying branches of the music industry? How has it evolved with the music industry over the years? A Q&A session will provide attendees the opportunity to directly address questions about the event and how to make the most of a potentially daunting, but crucial event.
Following this presentation, a panel of industry stakeholders will convene to discuss their experiences attending MIDEM from various roles and perspectives, including: manager, distributor, publisher, label, funding body and artist/perform and both new and veteran attendees. A networking reception will follow the panel, providing one-on-one Q&A opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies interested in attending MIDEM 2015.
About MIDEM:
Established in 1967, MIDEM (Marché International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale) takes place annually in Cannes, France and is the largest and oldest internationally attended trade show and conference specializing in doing business, creating opportunities and monetizing deals with peers and colleagues in the music industry from around the world. Surveys completed by MIDEM attendees report a higher amount of confirmed and potential revenue generated than any other music-centric conference, trade show or festival.
See results reported from CIMA’s recent export missions to MIDEM: 2012 | 2013 | 2014
